April Notices Update

District Synod - Saturday 27th April Dear Friends in all the Churches in the Lancashire Methodist District, you are invited to join in the closing act of worship at Synod on Saturday 27th April, as we seek to celebrate, for a final time, the life of the Lancashire Methodist District and give thanks for all that has been shared over the years. This is being held at Church Road Methodist Church, St. Annes, in the Blackpool & South Fylde Circuit (FY8 3NQ) and will start at 1.00p.m. We look forward to welcoming back Revd Stephen and Deacon Myrtle Poxon and Revd Paul and Mrs. Elizabeth Davis for this occasion, and will hear messages from others with connections to the District. The gathering will end with the sharing of Holy Communion, finishing by 2.30p.m.
You are very welcome to join us for this very special event if you are at all able.

On Saturday 27th April we are hosting the Lancashire District Synod here at Church Road. If you feel you could help out at any point on Saturday 27th or the previous evening, then please get in touch with Catherine Irving (jandcirving@yahoo.co.uk) or Janette Farley (janettefarley63@gmail.com).
There are all sorts of jobs available from making and serving drinks to directing car parking. Or if you prefer, setting up the event on Friday or clearing up last thing on Saturday. Donations of cakes, with ingredients listed in full, would also be gratefully received on the Saturday morning.

Gaza Appeal - we are pleased to announce that Church Road raised a total of £374.62 towards the Methodist Gaza Appeal.

General Church Meeting – this will be held in the church after the morning service on 21st April. Please attend if you are able.

Easter Offering for the Methodist Church World Mission Fund - collections for this have been postponed so as not to clash with the Gaza Appeal. Envelopes will be available on Sunday 28th April. The traditional service to dedicate the Circuit's offering will be held at 3pm on Sunday 9th June at Layton Methodist Church.
